Back in 2004, two Chicago attorneys got fed up at paying a fortune for neckties. So rather than continuing to complain about it, they created The Tie Bar. And they never looked back.
One attorney was responsible for teaching himself neckwear design. One attorney was responsible for teaching herself the retail business. At first, things didn't go so smoothly. Money was lost. Mistakes were made. But slowly, the designing improved and word started to get around.
Soon after The Tie Bar was launched, its neckties began being featured by major media outlets such as CNBC, the Wall Street Journal, the Chicago Tribune and the Miami Herald. Since then, numerous other newspapers, television programs and fashion magazines have showcased our ties, and our popularity continues to grow around the world.
